Grants

What are the yields from a solar system?

If your system meets the grant requirements issued in 2010, then every kWh generated will yield a return. For systems of 1.0-15 kWp this is €0.474 per kWh and for systems of 15-100 kWp this is €0.43 per kWh. If you are using the electricity yourself, you save €0.234 on the price of electricity and you will receive as much as €0.24 or €0.195, respectively, in grants.

If you produce more energy than you consume, the energy company will purchase the surplus from you. You will receive a payment for this, which may vary per energy supplier. We are happy to advise you on what rates your energy supplier offers.

How do I apply for a grant?

Every year, the government issues new rules on grants. After your grant request has been approved and after the system has been installed, you need to register with CertiQ as a supplier of electricity. We can assist you and advise you on how to do this.

What is the technical life cycle of a system?

Because it is built using high-quality materials and components, the expected technical life of the Solinq equipment is forty years (this applies to normal usage and with due regard for the regulations and instructions supplied). The manufacturer of the module guarantees a yield of 90% after ten years and of 80% after twenty-five years.

Does the system require maintenance?

The system does not contain any parts that require maintenance. So under normal circumstances no maintenance is required. If correctly installed, the panels are self-cleaning and maintenance-free. You can quickly see whether the yields are correct by regularly checking the energy meter or the yield data, which you can enter on your computer. This allows you to see immediately if there is anything wrong.

You can have the panels checked once a year, and if required, you can have them cleaned. We also offer these services.

What is the payback period for my system?

The payback period for your solar system depends on a number of factors, including the acquisition costs, subsidies and energy yields.

Example 1:

Investment

Installation costs for the PV €3.35 per Wp

€11,725

A 3.500 Wp system would then cost

€  1,500 (max)

Local government grant**

Yield

Grants

€ 0240/kWh *

Electricity Price

€0.234/kWh (current price of electricity)

Total

€0.474/kWh

1 Wp provides 850 Wh per year. . 3,500 Wp provides 2,975 Wh per year.

Annual yield:
2,975 kWh x €0.474/kWh = €1,410.15

The expected payback period would be approximately seven years. After that you can enjoy “free electricity for life”!

Example 2:

A fifteen-year fixed annuity mortgage for €10,000 at 4.5% nominal rate.

Net monthly costs: €67.20

2,975 kWh/12 months = 248 kWh/month
248 kWh x €0.474 = €117.55

So:

Annual gain: €117.55-€67.20 x 12 = €604.20
